About Mindspark

Mindspark is an adaptive, computer-based audio-visual program comprising both researched reading material and questions and activities to develop reading and mathematical skills that individual students will use with teacher support but is non teacher dependent..

Mindspark will adapt itself to the student's language level, allow learning at his or her own pace, administer assessments and strengthen weak areas, thus improving reading skills. The program will engage students, develop a love for reading, and provide them wide exposure to content through a variety of texts, stories and songs covering a range of knowledge areas and genres. These would include texts with and without voice-over support and same-language subtitling.

It will also allow them to write their own stories with images thereby creating their own "book" that can be published.

Students learn to type (and write) in Hindi - they can make 'books' of the own with drawings. Many children from classes 5-6 find it difficult to write when they come to the center.

Every session of the reading intervention will last for 30-40 minutes and works at two levels. The first part will immerse the student in language through audio-visual animation of texts and will test the student's language comprehension; the second will measure and enhance the student's reading skills by through a score of interactive questions and applications. Similarly the entire Maths curriculum is covered and works through an adaptive nature allowing students to progress at their own speed and transition levels automatically. If students want, questions can be shown in English as well as some students study at English medium Affordable Private Schools. Read more
